10 Reasons to Cruise with JustJoeyTravels

From episode 69 of the Gay Cruise & Travel Podcast w/ JustJoeyT

I've been a one-person travel agency for a while now, and I'm so happy with the number of people that I've already been able to help book their next dream vacation, but I'm learning so much as well. Obviously, it’s a new business, new industry, and new profession for me. I'm learning a lot more about what people are looking for and what people's mindsets are.

For those people wanting to go on an Atlantis cruise, for example, there are some questions I get frequently, but probably the biggest one is:

"Why should I book with you? Why should I book with Just Joey Travels?"

It’s a totally fair question. The fact that I get that question shows me I'm not doing a good enough job proactively letting people know the advantages of booking with Just Joey Travels. I spent this past Sunday updating the website’s contact section so that it is much more obvious. Today is the first step in that process. I'm going to tell you why you should book with Just Joey Travels, but I'm also going to tell you a situation where I'm not going to help you—which is weird for a business to say, but I'm not the best option for everyone, and I'm going to explain why.

10 Reasons to Book with Just Joey Travels

  1. Answering All Your Questions: I recently had a potential client DM me saying they were confused and had no idea where to look. Cruises are a niche, queer cruises are a niche within a niche, and Atlantis is a niche within that. Even if you don't know what to ask, I know all the right questions to ask you.

  2. One-on-One Communication: Whether it’s Instagram DMs, Telegram, email, or a phone call, I offer a direct line. I reserve these one-on-one chats for prospective and existing clients so they feel like VIPs with a dedicated line to me.

  3. Things You Didn’t Think About: If you’re a first-time cruiser, you might not know that booking an interior room is actually the worst choice if you’re prone to motion sickness. Motion sickness is caused by a mismatch between what your inner ear feels and what your eyes see. I provide the expertise to catch these details.

  4. Picking the Right Cruise for You: Not all Atlantis cruises are the same; they all have a different vibe. I don’t blindly book people. I talk to you to make sure you’re spending your money on the cruise that actually fits your preferences.

  5. Best Room Category and Location: Beyond just the type of room, I focus on quiet locations. I know where the party venues are and ensure you aren’t booked near a spot where there’s "boom boom boom" at 4:00 AM.

  6. Latest Inventory and Availability: I regularly check inventory so I can tell you how quickly you need to move. For example, the Athens to Venice cruise is already over 90% full. You won’t get that sense of urgency or availability details from the website alone.

  7. Payment Options: Atlantis offers different ways to pay that are often buried in terms and conditions. You often only need a $200–$400 deposit to secure a reservation. I can provide detailed payment plan estimates for my clients.

  8. Walking Through the Process: I read the fine print out loud. If you're looking at a promotional rate, I’ll tell you upfront if that means you can't pick your room or if your view might be obscured by a lifeboat.

  9. Follow-up Advice and the "3-2-1" System: My job doesn’t end at the booking. I provide comprehensive guides with packing checklists and port info. I’m also formalizing a "321 email" system to send you the right info at three, two, and one month before departure.

  10. Your Cruise Concierge for Life: Once you book your first Atlantis vacation with me, you’re a client for life. Whether you have parking questions on embarkation day or need help while on the ship, I am there for you.

When You Shouldn't Book With Me

I want to be wise with my time as a one-person shop. I will encourage you to book elsewhere if:

  • It’s not your first Atlantis vacation: If you’ve booked directly with Atlantis before, I don't receive a commission for subsequent bookings.

  • You have another travel agent: I am not here to poach clients. If you booked your first trip with "John Smith," you are his client, and he should be the one helping you.

I make my money through commissions from Atlantis when I book a brand-new cruiser. For everyone else, you can still benefit from my free resources like the YouTube videos, this podcast, and the new GCTC community, all linked at justjoeytravels.link
